About the recording process
These two albums were put together in pretty much the same way with Scorching Bay perhaps being the more developed of the two.
The basic idea of various themes being central throughout the album became a bit of an obsession with Scorching Bay to the point where new ideas no matter how good had to be trashed so the core themes stayed constant.
Everything got used / recycled so basslines became melodies, melodies became motor rhythms, tempos got repeated in different tracks, drum loops got stretched etc.
I drew a diagram to make the connections visual - it looked good but I've lost it.  Most of the recording was at my own place with the drums being recorded at Ralph Salmin's studio. Doug Shearer mastered the cd at Townhouse.
